MIDFEST SPOTLIGHT: TSU Contemporary Dance Team of Tarlac State University.

Founded in 2016, TSU-CDT is Tarlac State University’s official contemporary dance team specializing in improvisational movement, story-telling and relevant pieces of the time. TSU-CDT’s mantra: “TO DANCE IS TO BE FREE” which in Latin is “Saltare Est Liberum Esse”, the team aspires to be an agent of free expression through contemporary dance movements highlighting the significance and benefits of going outside and beyond the box. The team continuously commits itself in bringing artistry to a different level—inspirational, meaningful and powerful.

On 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒚 25, 2026, at 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒎 101,🚪 aspiring dancers came together with a shared passion and a common goal to earn a place in the TSU Contemporary Dance Team. With grace comes confidence as each candidate embraces the opportunity to showcase their talent, determination, and love for the art of dance in pursuit of becoming part of the university's official dance ensemble.

The journey began with each candidate presenting a solo performance, allowing their individuality and artistry to shine. They then embraced spontaneity through an impromptu dance, revealing their creativity, musicality, and confidence. Finally, they demonstrated their adaptability by learning and performing choreography on the spot, showcasing not only their technical ability but also their willingness to grow, collaborate, and rise to every challenge.

To all who auditioned, thank you for sharing your talent and trusting us to be part of your journey. Your passion, perseverance, and bravery made this day truly inspiring. Regardless of the outcome, every audition is a milestone that brings you one step closer to becoming the artist you aspire to be. 🫶
