Art Luzon Officially Opens to the Public

TARLAC PROVINCE — The much-anticipated Art Luzon officially opened to the public on October 10 at Diwa ng Tarlac, bringing together a diverse showcase of artistic talent and creativity from across Luzon.

Organized by the Tarlac Provincial Tourism Office, this year’s art fair carries the theme “Across Regions,” highlighting various forms of art that reflect the passion, dedication, and creativity of artists from different parts of the region.

Among those who attended the opening ceremony were Governor Christian Yap, Vice Governor Estelita Aquino, Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap, Board Member Pearl Pacada, and Melissa Yeung-Yap, one of the event’s organizers.

In his message, Governor Yap looked back on the evolution of the art fair, which began as a provincial initiative before expanding into a regional event and eventually becoming a showcase for artists across Luzon.

“We’ve started organizing this as a provincial art fair, evolved into a regional art fair, and now we are organizing it as a whole-of-Luzon art fair,” Yap said.

The annual event is part of the provincial government’s continuing efforts to strengthen the arts sector in Tarlac and beyond. It also aims to provide artists with a wider platform to showcase their work, reach more audiences, and promote greater appreciation of art among the public.

Art Luzon will remain open to the public from October 10 to 18, inviting residents of Tarlac and neighboring towns to explore the exhibits and celebrate the diversity of artistic expression across Luzon.

Through this initiative, the provincial government hopes to further establish Tarlac as a venue for artistic collaboration and cultural development, reinforcing the belief that art is for everyone.
