LUZON ART FAIR 2025

It’s such an honor to be a part of this event for the 2nd time around! Let’s take a stroll and try to look for our piece: “The Devil and his Demons”! It’s honestly crazy how good the artworks there was! There were a lot more works that I didn’t get to include in this video but it sure was fun running around admiring every piece I bump into.

Pokemon Artwork: Marshadow #0802

I really loved how this cute little guy is designed. Marshadow is a Fighting/Ghost type Pokémon introduced in Generation 7. It slips into the shadows of others and mimics their powers and movements. As it improves, it becomes stronger than those it’s imitating.

It took a really long while before I posted a new artwork and I would like to share why. It was basically just burn out. I was trying to push myself how to improve and I think it locked me in a box wherein if I didn’t deliver my own expectations, I would refuse to create. This probably happens more often on creative people who put too much pressure towards themselves and I think it’s important to address it immediately when you find out where your difficulty to produce is rooted.

It was month for me and it was starting to get me worried whether maybe I was done making art and that this was the end of my line as a visual artist. I looked at this piece everyday trying to figure out a way to start or at least draw something at least so I just kept thinking about it when I can. I watched loads of content, styles, I even went back to the basics as my last hurrah.

To give context, the ‘improvement’ that I was aiming for was removing lineart from my works and it was so difficult for me since I have always relied on those black borders to keep my colors from spilling and without a background for painting it was really hard to imagine. But alas, I just decided that I was going to finish it and have fun in the process. So I hope you guys like the picture I drew! Thanks for reading all of that if ever you made it all the way here lol!

Tldr; progress is not a straight line: respect your burnout and go back to the start.
