Clean-Up Drive 2026

Yesterday, July 15, 2026, the Fine Arts Department of Tarlac State University conducted its annual Clean-Up Drive in preparation for the opening of classes for Academic Year 2026–2027.

As we do every year before the opening of classes, the Fine Arts faculty and students came together to clean and organize our classrooms and workspaces, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for everyone.

Thank you to all the faculty members and students who volunteered their time and effort. Your teamwork and dedication continue to make our department a better place to learn and create.

ATTENTION!

The Fine Arts Department is now accepting shifters and transferees. Please note that slots are limited.

The Qualifying Exam (𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁) will be held on May 26 (Tuesday) from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at Tarlac State University, College of Architecture and Fine Arts Building, San Isidro Campus.

The Qualifying Exam covers:
𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄.

The actual 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 is estimated to last for 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 (𝟯) 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀. Applicants will be required to bring their own art materials on the scheduled test.

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿
• Any white paper or board available.
• A5 size (half of A4) OR 5.83 X 8.27 inches.

𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺
• Any colored medium preferred by the applicant (eg, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, markers, pastel, and gel pens).
• Additional: Sharpener/Cutter, Eraser, and Paint Brush.

Applicants are REQUIRED to submit the following requirements:

1. 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠

2. Applicants must submit a 𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗢 with a minimum of 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝟱)artworks created during the last three years. Artworks should be 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. It will be submitted on the day of the Talent Determination Test.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: Only the following artworks will be accepted in the portfolio. Any size is acceptable as long as it does not exceed the folder's size.

• Painting
• Sculpture
• Photography
• Digital Design

𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:
Printed artworks must be placed in a long brown envelope or submitted in hardbound format.

3. 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗗𝗢𝗔) A Notarized Declaration of Originality and Authenticity (DOA) must be submitted together with the portfolio.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: Only one (1) DOA is required for the entire portfolio.

All applicants will also undergo 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗟 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪. Qualified applicants will have an in-person interview. The Evaluation Committee is composed of five (3) faculty members assigned by the Fine Arts Department Head.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: The Evaluation Committee will use a standard rubric for the panel interview to assess the student's intent to enroll in the program. The overall result of the interview along with the Talent Determination Test and Portfolio Evaluation results will be evaluated by the committee. The results will serve as the basis for admission to the program.

Failure to attend the talent determination test will result in the invalidation of your application to the Fine Arts program.

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗!

Last April 22 and 23, 2026, the 4th Year Fine Arts students successfully held their final thesis defense. A total of 27 titles were presented, with 14 from FA 4A and 13 from FA 4B. This milestone reflects the hard work, creativity, and dedication of each student throughout their journey.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our evaluators Ms. Jenifer T. Bernardo, Mr. Edno T. Joson, Mr. Kenneth Leo V. Pamlas, and Mr. Albert I. Sanchez for their valued time, guidance, and recommendations. We are also grateful to our thesis professor Mr. Jessie M. Tadeo Jr. for his continuous support and for guiding us throughout the entire three semesters.

Congratulations to all 4th Year Fine Arts students for a successful thesis defense. ✨
