Call for Contestants! 2023
The On-the-Spot MassKara Painting Competition is open to all artists aged 18 years or older who are bonafide residents of Bacolod City. One should also be certified by the barangay they are representing.
Theme will be announced on the day of the on-the-spot painting competition.
Date: October 8, 2023 (Sunday)
Time: 2:00 to 6:00PM
Venue: Robinsons Place Bacolod
The artwork should be done with representational art to convey the theme. Artwork should be able to include the icon the smiling MassKara face. Interpretation of the theme, design and colors will be up to the artist.
OPEN CATEGORY GUIDELINES:
1. Artist contestant should be a bonafide resident of Bacolod City who is age 18 years old or older. Submit a valid government ID or Barangay Certification which proves one’s Bacolod residency. It should also show the age of the contestant. We highly encourage to get a Letter of Representation from the barangay you are a resident of and/or from the barangay you would like to represent.
2. The application to be an official contestant is until October 6, 2023 at exactly 10:00 PM. Submit through email your Resume/Bio-data and at least 3 photos of your original works. Email to: [email protected] with the subject MassKara Painting_Name of Contestant. Fill out the following details below:

Submit also the Brgy’s Letter of Representation.
3. Those who will apply will be screened and the final list of official contestants will be announced through the Official MassKara FB Page and the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros FB page on October 7,2023 at 7:00 PM. All official contestants will also receive a confirmation email with instructions and orientation.
4. On the competition day on October 8, 2023, a blank mask (Approximately 15 x 10 x 3 inches) will be provided along with brushes and paints. Other materials that are allowed to be brought in are the ff: pencils, markers, other kinds of odorless paints (except spray paints), water cups, clean rags, and other artist brushes. Materials to be glued or attached will not be allowed. The contestant can bring in their sketch or study of their painting.
5. On competition day, the contestants will be given 3 hours to do their artwork on the blank mask.
6. The judging will follow after painting of entries. Tabulation will be after the judging.
7. Announcement and awarding of winners will be announced thereafter.
