Teatro de San Pedro, the Theater Evangelization project of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu and the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod, is reviving the theater tradition of the Jesuits who were "long known to use drama as part of their pedagogy... were the earliest to use religious dramatic and sem

idramatic forms - the "declamaciones graves," the "loa", the "coloquio," the auto sacramental -- to serve as audiovisual reinforcement in their teaching of religion." ("Palabas": Essays on Philippine Theater History, Doreen G. Fernandez).

SECOND SHOW | Another beautiful evening of theatre, faith, and community. Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod is truly grateful to have shared “Mga Dula sa Pagtuo” - five original Cebuano one-act plays that invite us to reflect on faith, love, hope, and the stories that shape our lives.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Community Members of the Catechetical Arts Ministry of the Servants of Mary, Queen of Apostles for your warm support and for journeying with us through this ministry of theatre. Your presence and encouragement mean so much to us. We are also deeply grateful to Fr. Raymundo Quito for gracing us with his presence and for being part of this meaningful evening.

And to everyone who came, listened, laughed, reflected, and shared this experience with us, thank you. Your presence reminds us why we continue to tell stories: because theatre has the beautiful ability to bring people together, open hearts, and create moments of reflection and connection.

Two down, one more to go! See you tonight!

ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO | The first show of “Mga Dula sa Pagtuo” has officially come to a close, and what a beautiful beginning it was.

Today, the stage became a place where stories of faith, hope, love, struggles, and the realities of life came alive. We saw our audience move, cry, laugh, and even feel fear as each story unfolded. More than applause, their emotions reminded us why we continue to tell stories: to touch hearts, awaken faith, and make people reflect.

To everyone who came, supported, laughed with us, cried with us, and allowed these stories to speak to you—thank you. Your presence is already part of something bigger than theater. Through this production, we continue to support the ongoing construction of the Chapel and Formation House of the Servants of Mary, Queen of Apostles Catechetical Arts Ministry

To the entire cast, production team, organizers, partners, and everyone who made today’s show possible, salamat sa inyong kakugi, pagtuo, ug pagserbisyo. ❤️

One show down. Two more shows to go. May the next performances continue to move hearts, inspire faith, and remind us that every story can become a form of service. Mga Dula sa Pagtuo - Where faith meets theater, and theater becomes a mission.

UPCOMING SHOW | Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod, in partnership with the Catechetical Arts Ministry of the Servants of Mary, Queen of Apostles, presents “Mga Dula sa Pagtuo”, a collection of five one-act plays that explore faith, hope, love, struggles, and the realities of human life written and directed by Agustin V. Ancajas.

More than a theatrical presentation, “Mga Dula sa Pagtuo” is a fundraising initiative for the ongoing construction of the new Chapel and Formation House of the Servants of Mary, Queen of Apostles, located at Hollow Block, Barangay Langtang, Talisay City, Cebu.

Through this project, theater becomes a means of supporting a community dedicated to faith, spiritual growth, formation, and service. Every audience member who attends becomes part of this mission, helping turn the vision of a new place for prayer, formation, and community into reality.

The performances will be held on August 21–22, 2026, with shows at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, at Teatro Rosita, San Isidro Labrador Parish, San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu.

We invite everyone to support this meaningful endeavor and experience an afternoon or evening where faith and theater meet for a greater purpose. Come and be part of Mga Dula sa Pagtuo. Your presence supports the stage, the mission, and the community behind it. If you would like to purchase tickets, please message their official pages for details.

Plays of Faith, Love, & Hope 🎭❤️

A beautiful afternoon of faith, love, hope, and theatre at Teatro Rosita, as Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod had the privilege of sharing Plays of Faith, Love, & Hope with the Senior Citizens’ Association of Talisay.

This production was made even more meaningful by the incredible senior thespians who graced the stage and reminded us that the love for theatre has no age. Their talent, passion, and willingness to share their stories beautifully prove that every season of life has a story worth telling and a gift worth sharing.

Through these plays, we were reminded that faith gives us strength, love gives meaning to our lives, and hope gives us the courage to keep going. More than a performance, it was a celebration of life and a humble offering of theatre as a means of evangelization.

We were deeply grateful to be graced by the presence of Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, whose support for this meaningful endeavor truly means the world to us. Thank you for believing in the power of the arts and for helping us bring this gift of theatre closer to the Talisaynons.

To the Senior Citizens’ Association of Talisay, thank you for welcoming us so warmly. It was our joy and privilege to share this stage, this story, and this gift with you. ❤️

Theatre reminds us that no matter our age, there is always a story to tell, a heart to touch, and a hope to share.

To God be the glory!

MGA DULA SA GUGMA 🎭

Last night, we were grateful to bring Mga Dula sa Gugma to San Roque Parish, Subangdaku, Mandaue City, featuring four beautiful original one-act plays that each tell a different story about the profound meaning of love.

We are truly grateful to Fr. Francisco Ferreras for inviting us once again and for giving us the opportunity to share the gift of Theatre of Evangelization with the Mandauehanons as they celebrated the 62nd Annual Fiesta of San Roque Parish.

It was a joy to share stories that remind us of the many ways love is lived through sacrifice, faith, family, forgiveness, and devotion.

Thank you to everyone who watched, supported, and welcomed us last night. We are grateful to have shared the stage with you and to have been part of your celebration.

May the stories continue to speak to your hearts, even after the curtains have closed.

SHOWING TOMORROW | AUGUST 13 🎭
MGA DULA SA GUGMA

Come and witness an evening of stories woven from the many faces of Gugma—love: love that chooses, love that sacrifices, love that endures, and above all, love that leads us closer to God.

Three heartfelt plays from Mga Dula sa Gugma take center stage, bringing to life stories that remind us of the beauty, struggles, and triumphs found in love. Adding to this meaningful evening is “Welcome to CDO”, a special play inspired by the life and vocation of Venerable Teofilo Camomot, a man whose life was a profound testament to his love, faith, and unwavering devotion to God and His people.

Four stories. One evening. One enduring message: GUGMA.

Join us tomorrow and experience stories that do more than entertain, they invite us to feel, reflect, and rediscover the love that calls us to God.

Mga Dula sa Gugma, because every story of love can become a story of grace.

Happy 1st Pastoral Anniversary as Parish Priest of San Isidro Labrador Parish, City of Talisay, Cebu, Rev. Msgr. Agustin Velez Ancajas! 💚

Your first year has been a beautiful testament to servant leadership, renewing not only our parish facilities but, more importantly, the hearts of God’s people. Thank you for your unwavering guidance, vision, and dedication to evangelization through the arts, community, and faith.

From your Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod family, congratulations, Nyor Ting! We thank God for your priestly ministry and pray for many more fruitful years of service.

HAPPY 1st PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY | Rev. Msgr. Agustin Velez Ancajas - One year ago, you arrived at San Isidro Labrador Parish, City of Talisay, Cebu not simply as our new parish priest, but as a shepherd with a vision, a servant with a heart, and a father who believes that every member of the parish has a place in the mission of Christ.

In just one year, we have witnessed not only physical improvements, but a renewed spirit within our parish family. From launching “Kamunggay Kada Balay sa San Isidro, Talisay,” a simple yet meaningful initiative that nurtures both homes and hope… to promoting Urban Farming, reminding us that stewardship begins with caring for God’s creation.

From restoring the second floor of the convent into a vibrant Theater Hall “Teatro Rosita”, giving a new home for evangelization through the arts… to countless feeding programs, outreach initiatives, and community-building activities that have touched many lives. You introduced new parish policies rooted in order, transparency, and participation. More importantly, you built bridges among ministries, organizations, volunteers, and parishioners. making everyone feel seen, valued, appreciated, and called to serve. Under your guidance, our parish has grown not only in projects, but in unity, collaboration, and faith.

And today, as we celebrate your 1st Pastoral Anniversary, another milestone unfolds with the blessing and inauguration of our newly renovated parish stage, a testament that your vision continues to inspire and your mission continues to grow.

These accomplishments are not measured merely by buildings restored or projects completed, but by the countless hearts renewed, relationships strengthened, and lives brought closer to Christ. As we look ahead, we know this is only the beginning. With many more dreams to accomplish and ministries to strengthen, we pray that God will continue to bless your priesthood with wisdom, courage, good health, and unwavering joy.

May San Isidro Labrador continue to intercede for you, and may the Lord abundantly bless your ministry as you faithfully lead His people for many years to come. 💚🙏
