“The portrait of the 11 Palestinian Al Jazeera journalists martyred in Gaza.”

Featuring Wael Al-Dahdouh — one of the most recognized Palestinian journalists — as he adds a few lines to the portrait of his son, Hamza Al-Dahdouh.

May their stories, courage, and voices never be forgotten.

Day 9 — Final Day
Live drawing commission for Al Jazeera Media Network at the 35th Doha International Book Fair 2026.

Today marks the end of this unforgettable 9-day journey. Grateful to have met the mother of Anas Al-Sharif, the brother of Ibrahim Thaher, and many incredible people who shared their stories and moments with me through art.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported my work, and became part of this experience. Truly an honor to be part of this event.

Day 8 - art, memory, and a powerful encounter

Live drawing commission for Al Jazeera Media Network at the 35th Doha International Book Fair 2026.

Today was a truly meaningful day.

Wael Al-Dahdouh, one of the most recognized journalists from Gaza and the father of the late Hamza Al-Dahdouh (whose portrait is part of my collage), visited the event today. The timing felt deeply significant, as Hamza’s portrait was the last one I was working on. In a powerful moment, Wael added a few lines to his son’s portrait - something I will carry with me for a long time.

Also grateful to see my friend Marivie, and to finally hand over my client’s commissioned portrait today.
