The External Relations and Alumni Affairs Office (ERAAO) successfully conducted its 2nd Leadership and Training Seminar with the theme, โDeveloping Character and Leadership Through Core Values Inculcation.โ This activity was designed not only to strengthen camaraderie among the Cultural Groups but also to cultivate discipline, ethical leadership, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation of the Universityโs core values. Through this initiative, participants were guided to reflect on their roles as student leaders and cultural ambassadors, equipping them with the mindset and values necessary for both personal and organizational growth.
The Marching Band, Dance Company, Synfonia Rondalla, and Harmonic Chorale set aside their instruments and dance shoes for a day dedicated to connection, reflection, and teamwork. It was a meaningful sight to witness the Cultural Scholars step beyond their usual rehearsals and performances to engage in moments filled with laughter, shared stories, and genuine interaction.
While each group typically excels within its own discipline, the team-building activities revealed a unified spirit that transcended their differences. From engaging games to heartfelt conversations, barriers between groups gradually dissolved, fostering new friendships and mutual understanding. Despite their varied forms of artistic expression, they came together as one cohesive and harmonious ensemble.
More than just a team-building activity, the seminar became a platform for strengthening a community grounded in shared values, respect, and collective purpose. It reinforced the idea that true leadership is not only demonstrated on stage but also in how individuals collaborate, support one another, and embody the principles they uphold.
Indeed, the experience was not merely about building a teamโit was about nurturing a family that lives and breathes the arts. As these scholars move forward, they carry with them not only enhanced skills and strengthened relationships but also a renewed commitment to lead with integrity, passion, and purposeโboth on and off the stage.
