In celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week, the students of the Special Program in the Arts (SPA) had the privilege of sharing a meaningful and inspiring day with children with special needs of through an Art Workshop grounded in the theme:โRights First, Legislation Forward: Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development.โ
The Special Program in the Arts Visual Arts students headed by Sir Oscar L. Edig sat beside these young artistsโnot as teachers and learners, but as friends, mentors, and fellow creators. Together, they transformed blank canvases into vibrant expressions of imagination, confidence, and hope.
To all who continue to champion inclusionโthank you for helping build a community where differences are embraced and every individual is valued.
Our heartfelt and sincerest gratitude to the Tagum City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for providing this meaningful opportunity to celebrate inclusion through art. Thank you for entrusting the SPA students of Tagum City National High School with the privilege of working alongside and mentoring children with special needs, creating an environment where creativity, understanding, and acceptance flourished.
We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to Sir Oscar L. Edig and Maโam Jasmin Perez Cabinian for their guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support in helping our students make this activity a success.
