San Lorenzo Parish Traditionalized Altar ✨🔥
Presenting my conceptual restoration drawing for the St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish Church in Tiwi, Albay! 🇵🇭
This retablo design replaces modern minimalism with a grand, High-Baroque sanctuary rooted in Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) architecture and historic European frescoes
Key details throughout the design:
The Celestial Vault: Highlights the Three-Christ Most Holy Trinity at the arch's apex, flanked by cosmic motifs of the sun and moon.
Hagiographical Vault Cycle:
Features two dedicated ceiling panels depicting the life of St. Lawrence—giving alms to the poor ("Hi Sunt Veri Ecclesiae Thesauri") on the left, and his martyrdom on the iron gridiron on the right.
Central Patron Retablo: Places St. Lawrence prominently in the central niche with his deacon's dalmatic and palm branch, flanked by side niches and tabernacle architecture.
Missionary Lineage: Side pedestals feature St. Augustine (S. Agustin) and St. Pedro Bautista (S. P. Bautista), honoring the Augustinian and Franciscan origins of the Bicol region.
Latin Liturgical Banners: Inscribed with Sanctus Sanctus Sanctus along the altar rail, flanked by Introibo ad Altare Dei and Panis Angelicus Fit Panis Hominum.
