We didn't know it then, but after our shoot, we found out that Lake Toya reaches depths of up to 180 meters, making it one of the few places in Hokkaido that never freezes, no matter how brutal the winter gets.
There is a beautiful parallel there to Josh and Sha's love. When a connection runs that deep, even the coldest, most challenging seasons don't stand a chance.
Shooting with them from the lakeside in the morning to the city lights of Sapporo at night felt like capturing the story of old friends!
