The Kurit-Lagting Art Collective is a dynamic cultural and artistic consortium dedicated to championing and nurturing the rich tapestry of culture and the arts in Sorsogon. The collective is an artistic collaboration of Bicolano artists from Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Camarines provinces with art advocacies on human rights and the environment. The collective is a member of the Sors

ogon Arts Council and the Concerned Artists of the Philippines Bicol Chapter. The Sorsogon Arts Council (SAC) is a local body of Sorsoganon artists founded by the late writer, Reynaldo Jamoralin. SAC advocates for indigenous, regional and Filipino artistic talents and the enhancement, development and promotion of Filipino culture. The Concerned Artists of the Philippines Bicol Chapter (CAP-Bicol) is one of CAP’s newest chapters formed in October 2020, which is composed of artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers and cultural workers from various disciplines that work toward a nationalist, people-oriented art and culture.

We’re excited to introduce the creative team who will be joining us for LAKAT-LENTE nan RAWIT-DAWIT SA BAYBAYON in Gubat, Sorsogon in partnership with Rhymes Of PEG and Save Gubat Bay Movement.

Alongside our Walk Leader Allan Abrigo, we’re welcoming our Assistant Walk Leaders, Venus Ashtred Briñola and Danna Garbida, who will help guide participants as we walk, observe, photograph, and discover stories along the way.

After our last photowalk in Gubat, Sorsogon in 2022 during the pandemic, we’re coming back!

This time, we’ll walk, photograph, listen, and share stories of Gubat’s people, heritage, livelihoods, and coast through photography and poetry, joining Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk 2026.

More than a photowalk, the project creates a creative space for these realities to be seen, heard, and shared, inviting us to experience Gubat not simply as a destination, but as a living community and shared place that deserves to be understood and cared for.
