The Philippine Meistersingers The official page for friends and supporters of The Philippine Meistersingers (formerly the Adventist University of the Philippines AMBASSADORS).

The Philippine Meistersingers is one of the Philippines’ most acclaimed choirs today. Under it’s former name, Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) Ambassadors, the Meistersingers have concertized locally and internationally, performing a wide-ranging repertoire of classical, contemporary, and sacred music. The Meistersingers are active participants in the Philippines’ classical music comm

unity, having performed major works such as Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s Gloria and Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem, and Verdi’s Requiem, in collaboration with the San Agustin Museum International Music Festivals, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and with conductors Ruggero Barbieri and Olivier Ochanine. In 2006, as the AUP Ambassadors, the Meistersingers won two gold medals and the championship for the Gospel and Spirituals category at the 4th World Choir Games. At the 2011 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, again as the AUP Ambassadors, the Meistersingers swept the Chamber Choir and Mixed Choir competitions, winning both 1st prizes, and was declared the 2011 “Choir of the World,” and winner of the Luciano Pavarotti trophy. Under its director, Ramon M. Lijauco, Jr., the Meistersingers continue to stay true to its dedication to ministry, its legacy of service, and its commitment to excellence, all to the glory of God!
