Formation and Evolution of the SITFPA Choir
How Did the SITFPA Choir Get Started and Formed? The Saint Isidore The Farmer Parish Abachanan Choir (SITFPA Choir) was founded in September 2018 by four individuals: Arniel T. Cadeliña, and Jumie E. Cabarrubias. Initially, these founders were exploring various ways to raise funds for the Parish Youth Ministry. While selling candles was one of the sugges
tions, the idea of caroling emerged as a more engaging and seasonally appropriate option, given the approaching Christmas season. After agreeing on the caroling initiative post-mass at Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish in Abachanan, Sierra Bulones, Bohol, the group began practicing Christmas songs. Among the first songs they rehearsed was "Angels We Have Heard On High." This practice led to the realization that they could establish a formal youth choir. They seized the opportunity to recruit additional members during a Parish Youth Ministry seminar held at Bagacay Chapel, Pilar, Bohol. This recruitment effort significantly increased the choir's membership to over 20 individuals. To ensure focus, unity, and harmony, the founders assigned specific vocal parts to each member: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. On November 11, 2018, the group officially named themselves the St. Isidore The Farmer Parish of Abachanan Youth Choir (SITFPA Youth Choir). Their inaugural performance featured the song "I Will Sing Forever," marking the proclamation of the Year of the Youth and their first live performance. Growth and Development
Since its inception, the SITFPA Choir has steadily grown, continuously preparing and performing hymns for Holy Masses, weddings, and various community events. Their dedication and musical talent have earned them invitations to numerous events, enhancing their reputation within the community and beyond. Some of their notable performances include:
The Foundation Day program at Dusita High School, where they performed "Rosas Pandan" and "I Will Sing Forever." Various programs in barangay Abachanan and other locations such as the town of Sierra Bullones, within the church of Immaculate Conception Parish, and the Bugsoc Parish, Bohol. The National Youth Cross & Relic celebration at St. Anthony the Abbot Parish Church in Carmen, Bohol, where they performed Taize Prayer songs. Vicariate Youth Days in Sierra Bullones, Bohol, during the High Mass. Diocesan Bible Congress at San Isidro, Pilar Parish, Bohol, and Diocesan Youth Days in Bien Unido, Bohol, where they performed "Elijah Rock." In February 2020, the SITFPA Youth Choir collaborated with the Arimathea Choir for the first priesthood ordination at St. Isidore Parish. This event, which celebrated the ordination of Rev. Louland T. Escabusa, CICM, was a milestone for the choir, earning them recognition and praise. Generous donations from attendees, including Mr. Lee Soonho, Mr. Mike Lester Carreon, and Rev. Louland Escabusa, allowed the choir to create new uniforms for future performances. Recognizing the changing dynamics of its members, who might eventually marry and start families, the choir rebranded itself as the SITFPA Choir. This change ensured inclusivity and continuity, allowing both original and new members to remain part of the group. Mission Statement
