On the sixth day of November, the gods and goddesses of Madia-as led by the mighty Kaptan descended unto the plains to the banquet of Kanla-on. All the deities gathered in such a bountiful festivity were entertained by the follies of men and thereby had a dispute for the utmost reverence of the mortals.

On the eighth day, Munsad Buralakaw the god of politics and affairs of men, announced that there will be a truce among the celestial beings in that event. That whoever shall gain the most veneration from the mortals shall be declared heirs of the golden diadem and staff.

Henceforth, the competition among the fairest, the most erudite, and supreme jovial divinities begins. Thereafter, all mortals on the palm of the Earth are cordially invited to witness the culmination of such divine rivalry.

On November tenth, one eventual god will hold the staff and one goddess will bear the golden diadem on her head in the night full of stars and they shall be declared worthy of the veneration of their creations.

Kaptan, the supreme god who dwells in the sky, commanded his son Lihangin, the god of the wind, to herald the great banquet which will be hosted by Kanlaon in a place where the mountains meet the sea. All the deities in the Heavens, the Upper World, and the Underworld are expected to gather only to end up participating in a divine rivalry in the midst of the mortals.

Henceforth, Magwayen the queen goddess of Sulad (underworld) informed her daughter Lidagat to respond to Lihangin's request that their children, Licalibutan, Liadlao, Libulan, and Lisuga be present in the gathering.

But Lalahon plans to sabotage the great party. She intends to send armies of locusts to destroy the ricefields in the south and sugarcanes in the north.

The mortals will be furious and they will condemn the gods. Therefore, all the divinities who will be in the gathering shall have a truce as suggested by Munsad Buralakaw. That whoever shall regain the veneration of the mortals will be declared heir of the golden diadem and staff forged in the mystical power of Burigadang Pada Sinaklang Bulawan.
