PRIDE OF THE NORTH: DAYAW TI AMIANAN LAUNCHES YOUTH-LED ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN FOR COMMUNITY ACTION FOR OUR WOMEN, CHILDREN, GIRLS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
SANTIAGO CITY — A new youth-led advocacy platform is set to take the airwaves as Pride of the North: Dayaw ti Amianan officially launches on May 7, 4:00–5:00 PM, broadcast live via Sweet Radio 97.7 FM and livestreamed online to reach audiences across Cagayan Valley and beyond.
The program brings together youth and women leaders, civil society organizations, and civic institutions to amplify community voices and advance meaningful conversations on gender-responsive and youth-inclusive development.
The show will be hosted by youth leaders from Banyuhay – the Youth Publication of Santiago City, Kadua – a youth organization centered on mental health advocacy, and Sweet 97.7 FM, combining youth journalism, community advocacy, and broadcast media to create a dynamic platform for public dialogue.
The pilot episode will feature the theme “Pinay Power in Action,” in celebration of International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month. The episode highlights Pinay Power, the flagship initiative of Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCI Philippines), which promotes the holistic empowerment of women through leadership development, health awareness, and community engagement.
The program is supported by a broad coalition of civil society organizations and civic partners committed to advancing women’s empowerment, youth participation, health advocacy, and inclusive community development. Partner organizations include:
• Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCI Philippines) – promoting leadership development and civic engagement among young active citizens
• JCI Cagayan Valley – strengthening regional leadership initiatives and community impact programs
• Sweet Radio 97.7 FM – the official broadcast partner supporting community dialogue through responsible media
• Zonta Club of Isabela – championing women’s rights, gender equality, and leadership opportunities for women
• Zonta Club of Nueva Vizcaya – advocating for women’s empowerment and gender-responsive community initiatives
• Beyond the Spectrum – promoting inclusivity and support for individuals with diverse abilities
• Abbing na Santiago – strengthening youth cultural identity and community involvement
• Kabataang Santiagueño Volunteers – mobilizing youth volunteerism and civic engagement
• Naturales na Santiago Incorporated – preserving heritage, culture, and environmental stewardship
• Buhay Ka! Isabela – Cancer Support Group – providing psychosocial support and awareness for individuals and families affected by cancer
• Rotaract Club of Young Professionals of Santiago City – advancing service leadership and professional volunteerism
• Bahay Bata Formation Center – fostering youth development, values formation, and community leadership
Through weekly discussions, expert insights, and community stories, Dayaw ti Amianan aims to highlight pressing social issues while celebrating the leadership and resilience of communities across the region.
More than a radio program, Dayaw ti Amianan aspires to become a platform where media, youth leaders, women leaders, and civil society organizations work together to inspire action and build a stronger, more inclusive future for the North.
