Tethered Fragments contemplates the quiet architecture of connection, where disparate forms find equilibrium through acts of restraint and care. Cath Salazar assembles still-life compositions that bring together stone, wood, and wild flora, materials carrying distinct temporalities and physical weight, unified by the recurring presence of rope. Rather than functioning as an instrument of confinement, the rope becomes a gesture of preservation, transforming binding into an expression of support, stability, and trust.
Within these carefully orchestrated arrangements, permanence encounters ephemerality. The enduring mass of stone and the grounded character of timber are softened by the fleeting vitality of plants, creating a visual language that speaks to the delicate negotiations sustaining our lives.
