π‘π„ππ”πˆπ„π’π‚π€π“ 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄

Let us pray for the eternal repose of Rev. Fr. James J. Chepponis (1956–2026), priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and renowned liturgical composer, who has passed away.

Fr. Chepponis was widely known for his sacred compositions, particularly the β€œFestival Alleluia” and β€œMelodic Gloria,” which continue to be sung in parishes across the United States and beyond. He faithfully served the Diocese of Pittsburgh by providing music for diocesan liturgies, directing the Diocesan Choir, coordinating the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, leading the Director of Music Ministries Division, and serving as a music resource for parishes throughout the diocese. Through his ministry, he enriched the Church’s worship and helped countless faithful pray through sacred song.

Let us pray for the eternal repose of Father Jim.
