Official Statement from Romblon State University Social and Cultural Affairs Office
At Romblon State University, we hold integrity, fairness, and transparency as the core values that guide our every endeavorโespecially as the proud host of the 9th Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges โ Culture and Arts Festival (STRASUC-CAF).
We acknowledge that an honest mistake occurred in the tabulation of results, particularly in the Contemporary Dance category, which consequently affected the overall ranking of participating universities. Upon thorough verification and re-evaluation, our RSU counterpart Event Coordinator came forward and took full responsibility for the error. Immediate corrective action was made to uphold the accuracy and credibility of the results.
We understand that this situation has caused disappointment and frustration among some delegations, particularly our friends from Palawan State University. We deeply regret the confusion and any inconvenience this may have caused. Please know that the decision to correct the error was not made lightly, but out of our firm commitment to fairness and truthโprinciples we must uphold above all, especially in a gathering that celebrates art, talent, and excellence.
As the host university, we remain steadfast in our care for the integrity of the entire STRASUC community. We believe that acknowledging and correcting a mistake is not a sign of weakness, but of respectโfor our fellow SUCs, for our artists, and for the values that bind us together.
We thank all participating universities for their understanding, professionalism, and continued trust. May this experience remind us that true artistry shines brightest not only in performance, but also in integrity and humility.
