Back in 2003, Apalit Skate Krew also know ASK started with one simple phone call.
Gino answered a call from Jonathan(TANTAN) —someone he didn’t even know yet—asking if he wanted to go skate in the middle of the night.
That random session turned into another, until they found themselves building a skate scene right in front of the Apalit Municipal Hall.
They didn’t have much back then. Some of them were skating on old Landway boards with thin trucks and jelly wheels.
As more skaters started showing up, and the little spot became a home for anyone who shared the same passion—not just for skateboarding, but also for music, art, tattoos, and the lifestyle that came with it.
As the years went by, the crew grew. Got friends and fellow skaters from Pampanga, Bulacan, Manila, and beyond.
What started as a few people skating together became a community.
The krew is also thankful to the Apalit local government for supporting the scene by building a skatepark, giving the younger generation a place to ride, progress, and keep the culture alive.
Today, many of the OGs members don’t skate as much anymore, but still here—supporting the next generation, giving back to the scene, and making sure the culture we built continues to roll.
Shout out to the founding members - Oblaxz(tantan), Gino, Joseph, Zen, Nickz, Philip, Kenneth, Popo, Barag, Baron, Jerome.
