To build spatial confidence, a child needs a zone where they have absolute authority. Place a small rug or mat in the corner of a room. Tell your child, "This is your space. You make the rules here." You don't always have to tell a child to "slow down." The environment can teach them how. ☀️❄️ Inhibitory Control is the ability to regulate impulses and adapt energy levels appropriately. Our hybrid indoor/outdoor layout is a natural classroom for this skill. As children transition from high-energy running on our shaded outdoor grass into the cool, calm sanctuary of our indoor sensory zones, their nervous system naturally self-regulates. They learn to manage their own pace, entirely unprompted by an adult.
