GABRIEL ALLAN PAGUIRIGAN is a pianist, musical director, and teacher. He is a graduate of the Philippine High School for the Arts and the University of the Philippines College of Music. During his student days, he was a recipient of awards and scholarships such as the Makiling Academic and Research Institute for the Arts (MARIA) Scholarship, UP College of Music Extension Program Scholarship, and the Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Performance. His past teachers include Luci A. Magalit, Nita A. Quinto, Augusto Espino, Hannah Valdez-Sariego, Jet Gemora-Girn, and Aimee Mina-De la Cruz.
Mr. Paguirigan has been twice the First Prize winner of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists Piano Competition - in 2011 (Junior Category) and in 2015 (Senior Category). He has also won top prizes in other local competitions sponsored by the Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines Foundation Inc., the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lyric Piano & Organ Corporation, the Henrietta Sydeco-Tayengco Limjoco Piano Foundation, and the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music.
He is a sought-after collaborating artist, having worked with the Philippines’ best singers and instrumentalists. He is the musical director of Pasipo, a small vocal ensemble based in the Philippines which aims to explore the vast vocal repertoire. As a concert pianist, he has been the featured soloist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the Manila Symphony Orchestra, and the Cardona Ocho Symphonic Band in several concerts. He has also given solo recitals in the most prestigious venues all over the Philippines. In his relentless pursuit to further hone his craft, Mr. Paguirigan has taken master classes with prominent artists such as Carmencita Sipin-Aspiras, Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, Cecile Licad, Albert Tiu, Victor Asuncion, Reynaldo Reyes, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Chi-Ying Hung, Chao-Han Liao, Chinchuan Chang, Roberta Rust, Elodie Vignon, Adam Kent, Andreas Henkel, Chiara Cipelli, Miquel Esterlich, among many others.
Mr. Paguirigan enjoys teaching piano during his spare time, sharing to learners of various levels and age the joy of making music.
