“Untethered Bearing” exhibition runs until August 20.

– featuring works of Babylyn Fajilagutan and Lui Gonzales.

Untethered Bearing brings together the practices of Lui Gonzales and Babylyn Geroche Fajilagutan, whose works reflect awakening as an ongoing process of recalibration. Gonzales transforms everyday objects, natural forms, and inherited artifacts into vessels of memory. Rendered in pen and ink on layered tracing paper, these overlapping images mirror the fluid nature of consciousness, where memory, dreams, intuition, and intention continuously shape one another. Fajilagutan turns inward, drawing from the quiet rhythms of domestic life. Through graphite, acrylic, collage, painted paper, and thread, she assembles layered compositions that reflect identity as something gradually formed. Her threaded surfaces and subtle references to direction and time suggest that true orientation begins with self-awareness.

Capacity for growth remains fluid. Within FROOOT, Gean Brix Garcia envisions progress as a continuous unfolding where skill is nurtured over time. Through seven paintings populated by imbedded and flourishing blossoms, imagined dwellings, transit paths, intriguing tableaus, ethereal silhouettes, polychromatic patterns, and high fashion palettes, the artist explores the ebb and flow of creative evolution and the steady persistence required to continue a meaningful artistic journey.

Memory Vessel by Raphael David

A halved river stone is stabilized by a solid steel plate, from which a female figure emerges. Her stainless steel legs extend into ample hips and waist, while her torso, face, and hair are rendered in brass. This freestanding sculpture brings together cast, buffed, and natural textures in a single form. Leaves sprout from the figure's body, expanding the idea of fertility beyond reproduction to encompass movement, endurance, and lived experience.

Overflowing Potential by Raphael David

Seed-like forms gather quiet energy, reminding us that every beginning holds the promise of abundance. Soft curves and reflective surfaces create a two-tiered form of a seamlessly segmented base holding organic forces that part yet meet again, creating a keyhole view of where one can peek into the wonders of both nature and man’s creations. David playfully attaches pairs of tiny, plump leaf-forms showing promise and abundance to the sides and top of this sculpture.

Bloom Beneath the Surface by Raphael David

Growth often begins unseen. Here, new life rises gently from beneath the surface in the familiar shape of a female figure in stainless steel and brass, our eyes drawn to the vessel containing her–peering into the depths gives a sense of scrying for something deep and substantial, the clear epoxy surface giving the illusion of a layer of water. When exposed to the elements, this becomes a stage for dancing raindrops.
