✨🔥 𝐁𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞! 🔥✨

For the first time ever in CAL’s history, dance is claiming its rightful space alongside music, theater, and literature. Introducing 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 (𝗟𝗗𝗦𝗘) — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗔𝗟-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 that envisions to serve as the college’s pool of versatile performers and future athlete competitors.

Our vision is clear:
✅ Establish CAL’s first dedicated dance organization, supplying trained Latin dancers and performers for events, productions, and collaborations.

✅ Uphold a 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 anchored on international 𝗪𝗗𝗦𝗙 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, cultivating discipline, artistry, and competitiveness.

✅ Create a 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 for aspiring dancers — offering world-class training and a future in UP representation via Dance and Sport.

✅ Strengthen CAL’s reputation as the 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 — with music, theater, literature, and now, dance.

💃 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁, but we are 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘀 — because our mission is to be the 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 within UP, beyond the university, and even on national stages.

👥 Get the rare chance to be mentored by John Roni Asilo Paderes (AA Theatre alumnus) and Cel Diaz (BA Theatre Arts shiftee) — together, the award-winning duo Cel é Ron Movement. As the rising star Latin dance athletes, they have represented both UP and the Philippines in 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, bringing home 𝟰𝟬+ 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟬𝟬+ 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, including 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐒𝐀 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. Performing is life!

19/08/2025

✨ 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ✨

A Video Performance for the Halina, Artista! CAL Welcoming Assembly 2025, organized by the UP Diliman College of Arts and Letters FST Council, last August 18, 2025 at the IBG-KAL Theater.

Love can be unexpected—like rushing through an airport, bumping into someone uncannily familiar, and suddenly remembering what it means to find each other again. This story unfolds through dance: a playful Cha Cha Cha to Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand,” where two souls reconnect and hold on tighter than ever. Then comes turbulence—desire and intensity ignite in the Samba to “Dame Un Grr”—before finally landing with the bittersweet truth of Harry Styles’ “As It Was”: things will never be the same, but perhaps they are exactly as they’re meant to be.

This performance is our way of showing how dance can capture the whirlwind of love—its joy, its chaos, its grounding calm. More than a showcase of movement, it is a reminder that connection is what keeps us in flight.

And yes… ✈️ nothing beats a Jet2 holiday 😏💖

Cel é Ron Movement is the powerhouse Latin dancesport duo of Cel and John Roni, who together have amassed 10 golds, 16 silvers, 14 bronzes, and over 100 finalist placements, proudly representing UP and the Philippines in national and international competitions. Beyond the floor, they teach, choreograph, and design movement for stage and screen, fusing their theatre artistry with the athleticism of dancesport, and bringing to life their chemistry as partners in dance for over a year and in life for 8 months.

To everyone who has supported our journey so far: thank you. We carry your love with us in every step.

💃 Dancers: John Roni Asilo Paderes & Jiecel Diaz (Cel é Ron Movement)
🎥 Medium: Dance Video | Style: Latin (Cha Cha Cha, Samba, & Jive)

Special thanks to my mother for filming the video!

✨ 𝐒𝐀𝐘𝐒𝐀𝐘: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐈 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞✨
A Creative Project for ARTS 1 - WFR1

Since I was two years old, dance has been my compass—my constant, my lifeline, my truth. There were times in my life when things felt so heavy, I didn’t know how to go on. But dance carried me—through grief, through silence, through chaos. It helped me survive. And slowly, it taught me how to live.

This project is deeply personal. SAYSAY is not just a performance—it’s a love letter to the art form that saved me, and an offering to anyone who may be struggling to find their own rhythm. In this short video, we move not just to entertain, but to remind someone out there: you're not alone, and movement—any kind of movement—can be healing.

We dance 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗸𝗼, and 𝗖𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗜, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼—two songs that capture joy, confidence, and the energy of a generation. Music like this gives us the perfect canvas to share something real: the freedom and hope that dance brings.

This is also a glimpse into the heart of Cel é Ron Movement, our little corner of the world where we dream of making Dancesport more accessible and more meaningful. Because dancing shouldn’t be something reserved for the privileged—it should be something that welcomes everyone, saves lives, and sparks purpose.

To everyone who has supported our journey so far: thank you. We carry your love with us in every step.

💃 Dancers: John Roni Asilo Paderes & Jiecel Diaz from Cel é Ron Movement
