The Scenius Pro.

The Scenius Pro. The Scenius Pro. is a contemporary performance collective based in the Philippines. The Logo

Heptagon is a polygon that has seven sides.

The seven sides represent the seven people who spearheaded the “The Scenius Pro.” The three inner heptagons represent the events, film and the innermost, theater. It has lines, which made it a little three-dimensional showing different artists’ dynamics and creativity. The lines suggest the breaking away of norms in art, especially in theater performance. The two darkened scrolls, forming a letter

“S” represents the “S” in Scenius. The little white heptagon is an eye, for aesthetics, truth, vulnerability, inquisitivity, openness, balance. It is also an opening, or a passage through another world of endless possibilities in Art, Theater. It may remind us the reason why we are doing ART, in the first place–to use art for a greater good, aligned to the group’s mission and vision statement.

Presenting “The Project Artists 2023” that will present their seed performance works for Parika Likhaan this coming September 16 & 23, 2023.

About the artist:
Gerald is a BFA Creative Writing - playwriting track graduate from the Ateneo de Manila University. As a theater artist who aims to discover more means to elevate viewing experiences, he wants to tackle projects that go beyond the conventional means of researching, developing, and staging plays.

For the JHE project, he wants to create a play that presents the people of Binangonan and how they deal with the volume of news that directly and indirectly affects their lives.

About the project:
[Sa may Binangonan banda…] is a verbatim theater project that aims to present the locals of Binangonan and their daily lives. Focusing on the accessibility to different news sources today, the project follows a community-driven writing process that requires sending surveys, initiating interviews, and collecting other documentation and data to write the text of the play.

The goal is to allow the audience to find a communal space to share their experiences with the respondents, not as characters on a stage but as neighbors from the same street.
