This work centers on the stargazer lily as a figure suspended in motion; restless, circling, caught in a spiral that seems endless. The textured surface moves in loops & currents, echoing patterns of repetition and return. At the heart of this movement, the stargazer emerges.
The stargazer represents the desire to step out of the spiral. It dreams of breaking the pattern, of ending the cycle, of finding stillness within constant motion. It longs to move beyond the loop in order to gain peace.
Yet the stargazer does not rest. Because time & the urgency of the present is crucial in breaking repetition. The stargazer dreams and labors at once, holding both aspiration and action in the same breath.
Surrounded by circular currents, it continues to reach upward. The stargazer becomes a symbol of peace — not as the absence of movement, but as the quiet strength required to move differently, to interrupt the spiral, and to finally arrive at stillness.
