The UP Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Noemi Binag, presents 𝙎𝙮𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨, a program inspired by movement and rhythm in music.

Featuring Rachmaninoff’s 𝘚𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, Ravel’s 𝘓𝘢 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘦, and Barber’s 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘭, alongside Rossini's 𝘓𝘢 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘻𝘢 and Bernstein's 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢 with tenor Ervin Lumauag, and Nakpil's 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘰𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘻 with pianist April Merced-Misa.

From waltzes and tarantellas to Broadway and Filipino classics, experience music in motion.

₱100,000 raised for PGH!

Thank you to everyone who supported Rhythm and Echoes last February 28 at The Proscenium Theater. Because of you, the was able to turn over ₱100,000 to the PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. - funds that will go toward supporting the Philippine General Hospital in its mission of providing healthcare to those who need it most.

Representatives from the PGHMFI joined us that evening and witnessed firsthand the effort and heart that went into making this initiative possible.

It is deeply meaningful to know that the music played that night will echo far beyond the concert hall - and into the lives of patients at the Philippine General Hospital. 🎶 See you all at our next concert on April 22 at the UP Theater! Details coming soon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Rhythm and Echoes!

Under the baton of Josefino Chino Toledo, the UP Symphony Orchestra performed The Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky, L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet, Fêtes from Trois Nocturnes by Claude Debussy, and L’Bad by Ramon Santos. The program also featured the world premiere of Thunderbird for marimba and symphony orchestra by Kana Omori, with the composer herself as marimba soloist.

Kana Omori delivered an electrifying performance that captivated the audience, marked by virtuosity, energy, and commanding stage presence. Her interpretation brought the new work vividly to life and was met with enthusiastic applause.

A portion of the concert proceeds will benefit the PGH Medical Foundation, Inc.

Thank you for being part of an evening that celebrated the power of music as a bridge across cultures, memories, and hope. We look forward to welcoming you again at our future performances.
