Posting my long overdue “hard launch” of this painting. I’ve been posting this on my story since last year 😅

This was a painting full of heavy emotions: from the joy of welcoming the 1st of January in 2024; burn out from seeking acknowledgement as a designer; heartbreak from the love I need to let go and the spark to create something I’ve never done before - this painting.

It was initially made for an art exhibit try-out, but I didn’t get it (this time) 😅 .

I hope you’re also finding the strength to keep going, in your own way, at your own pace.

Kalachuchi or temple flower is a popular ornament here in the Philippines, represents fragility and the swift passage from life. Personally this flower is closely associated to my childhood, my mom always accompany me to collect fallen flowers from Kalachuchi trees.
