NINOY AQUINO DAY

On this day in 1983, Benigno Simeon "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. (assumed name: Marcial Bonifacio), on board China Airlines Flight 811, arrived at 1:04 PM at Gate 8 of the Manila International Airport.
Shortly after, military personnel boarded the plane, arrested and handcuffed Aquino.
While going down the plane staircase, Aquino was shot in the head from the back by one of his escorts.
He was already dead before he hit the pavement.
Immediately after, Rolando Galman came out of nowhere (presumably to be the fall guy) and was shot dead and tagged as the assasin.

It angered the nation.
At least 1 Million Filipinos joined Aquino's funeral march.

3 years passed and in 1986 the Marcos family was evicted from Malacanan by the famous EDSA People Power Revolution.
