a brief introduction

Hello! My name is Polo Miguel and I’m a musician based in the Philippines. I freaking love sad songs about love and local filipino music.

My curiosity about music started when i was 7 years old. My lolo was generous enough to give me my own violin as a birthday present that eventually led to violin and music theory lessons. But suddenly, I figured that the violin is not for me. I then proceeded on learning the piano. I LOVED IT. But still, The piano wasn’t enough. I’ve always been fascinated by the guitar. I really found it cool especially when my dad plays his favourite metallica records. That got me into trying out the guitar. Then, I got guitar lessons from Mr. Clem Castro (Orange & Lemons, The Camerawalls) and Voice lessons from Mrs. Gladys Siducon-Valenzuela (Madrigal Singers)

Many years and interests later, I realized, I can never do those fast and flashy metallica guitar solos. Hope’s not lost. I developed my love for Jazz and Blues which helped deepen my understanding of music. Since then, I’ve been teaching little kids music. I also do wedding gigs under Frigora (Thanks to the ever-talented, Mr. JM de Ramos) and has been playing session guitar for some of my talented friends. I also have my own home recording space that helped me a lot in my journey of exploring music. I am into songwriting now and I hope that you can somehow relate to my songs. I also love Jesus and is currently serving at our church community, The Feast. Thank you!
