We acknowledge that Diego Espinosa has since reached out and denied the allegations, stating that he would not engage in such actions and would not use his personal GCash for that purpose. We recognize his statement.

That said, given the circumstances and the lack of clarity surrounding the transaction, we believe it is necessary to address this matter through the proper channel. We will be proceeding with filing a barangay case so that all parties can formally discuss and resolve the situation based on facts.

We would also like to make it clear that this statement is being issued solely to protect and clear the name of MAD Gallery. It is not our intention to drag or discredit anyone. At the same time, we stand by our position that we were directly affected by this situation and are seeking a fair and proper resolution.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

We, from MAD Gallery, would like to address the recent post made by Pepe Mendoza to clarify our side and resolve any confusion surrounding the situation.

MAD Gallery is a starting gallery, and we acknowledge that we are still learning and growing within the art scene. During our abstract show last February, a piece by Pepe Mendoza was displayed. We would like to clarify that this piece was pulled out only because the exhibit had already ended, and not due to any issue or incident.

Recently, a buyer expressed interest in his piece “Child Play Series XXII.” In good faith, we reached out to Diego Espinosa, as he was the one who facilitated (ingressed) Pepe Mendoza’s work during the said exhibit. Communication was established, and an agreement was made regarding a certain price. As part of this, we were asked to send a total of ₱7,000, broken down into ₱5,000 for delivery-related expenses and an additional ₱2,000 as a lambing for the boys (convo will be in comment section)
We initially sent ₱5,000 as partial compliance. However, shortly after the transaction, we were unexpectedly blocked from all communication channels, including our mobile numbers and Facebook accounts. This left us without any clarity or resolution regarding the agreement.

Due to the lack of response, EL FERNANDEZ posted about the situation online, which eventually gained the attention of Pepe Mendoza. We understand how this may have caused confusion and concern, and for that, we sincerely apologize.

We would also like to state that we consider ourselves victims in this situation involving Norbert Espinosa aka Diego Espinosa. We recognize that Pepe Mendoza may also have been affected, and we sincerely empathize with all parties involved.

This statement is being made solely to clarify our side and to protect the name and integrity of MAD Gallery. We remain open to proper dialogue and resolution with everyone involved.

Thank you for your understanding.
