Being a chorister is a calling, but it also comes with real life costs many people do not talk about.

Transport to rehearsals and services can take a steady part of your income, especially when practices are frequent or end late. Uniforms and choir attire are another responsibility. They must be neat, complete, and sometimes replaced, which is not always easy for younger members.

There are also regular contributions. These may be for events, welfy, or general choir needs. While they serve a purpose, they can become a burden when you are not financially stable.

It is important for Choristers to plan wisely, be honest about their capacity, and avoid unnecessary pressure. Choir leaders should also show understanding, especially towards students and those still finding their feet.

Serving in the choir should build you, not break you financially.

The detail that Jesus Christ revealed Himself first to women after the resurrection is one of the most quietly powerful moments in the Gospel accounts. It carries deep spiritual, cultural, and theological meaning.

1. A Radical Cultural Reversal

In the first-century world, especially in Jewish and Roman society, women were not considered reliable legal witnesses. Their testimony was often dismissed in courts. Yet, the Gospels boldly record that the first witnesses of the resurrection were women like Mary Magdalene and others.

This wasn’t just unusual—it was countercultural. It shows that God’s truth is not bound by human systems of status or credibility. The resurrection message began not with the powerful, but with the overlooked.

2. Honor Given Where It Was Rarely Given

By appearing first to women, Jesus elevated their dignity and role in God’s plan. In a world that often minimized them, He entrusted them with the greatest news in history: He is risen.

This act reflects the heart of Christ—He sees, values, and honors those whom society may ignore.

3. Faithfulness Recognized

The women were the ones who stayed near the cross when many disciples fled. They came early to the tomb, not with expectation of resurrection, but with love and devotion.

Jesus’ first appearance to them is a response to that faithfulness. It shows that God meets those who seek Him, even in grief and confusion.

4. The Gospel’s Authenticity

From a historical perspective, this detail strengthens the credibility of the Gospel accounts. If the story were fabricated, it’s unlikely the writers would choose women—whose testimony carried less weight at the time—as the primary witnesses.
This “unexpected detail” points toward authenticity rather than invention.

5. A Message for All People

The resurrection was not revealed first to kings, priests, or religious elites—but to ordinary people. This sets the tone for the Gospel itself: salvation is for everyone, not just the privileged or powerful.

--------------------------------------------------------------

These moments when the risen Jesus Christ first appears to a woman is most clearly recorded in:

John 20:14–16
Matthew 28:5–10
Mark 16:9
Luke 24:1–10

These passages together emphasize that the first announcement of the resurrection was entrusted to women—a powerful and intentional detail in the Gospel story.

-------------------------------------------------------------

A Deeper Takeaway

The risen Christ chose the unlikely to carry the unimaginable. In doing so, He rewrote the value system of the world.

The message is clear:

God does not measure worth the way people do. He reveals Himself to hearts that are open, faithful, and seeking—regardless of status.

And just like those women at the tomb, the call remains:
Go and tell others—He is alive.

Imagine mo may taong nagsabi,
“Lord, I surrender my life to You.”

Parang sinabi niya,
“Jesus, Ikaw na bahala sa direction ng buhay ko.”

Pero after that

hindi naman siya nagbabasa ng Bible.

It’s like this:

Parang sumakay ka sa bus,
tapos sabi mo sa driver,
“Kuya, ikaw na bahala kung saan tayo pupunta.”

Pero habang nasa biyahe,
nakapikit ka, naka-headphones,
at ayaw mong tingnan yung road signs
o pakinggan yung instructions ng driver.

Then later, magtataka ka:
“Bakit parang mali yung direction ng buhay ko?”

Ganun din sa spiritual life.

You say you surrendered to Jesus,

Kung hindi mo Siya pinapakinggan through His Word,
parang surrender in words lang—
pero hindi in practice.

Hindi enough yung
“Lord, I surrender”
kung wala namang desire to listen.

Kasi tunay na surrender looks like this:
👉 “Lord, I trust You
 kaya gusto kitang pakinggan.”

—

You don’t read the Bible to prove na Christian ka.
You read it because
you surrendered to Someone
na gusto mong marinig araw-araw.

NO PRACTICE, NO PLAY đŸŽ€

Simple rule for every worship team. Because excellence in worship doesn’t happen by accident. Pinaghahandaan yan.

Practice is not just about skills. It’s about unity, timing, discipline, at sensitivity sa Holy Spirit.

Dito nabubuo ang flow. Dito nagkakaroon ng confidence. Dito nagiging ready ang team to lead people into God’s presence.

APPLICATION:
✔ Huwag i-skip ang practice
✔ Dumating on time at prepared
✔ Aralin ang kanta bago pa ang rehearsal
✔ Maging teachable at open sa correction
✔ I-treat ang practice as part of your worship

Reminder:
👉 Practice is part of your worship
👉 Preparation is honor to God
👉 Commitment reveals your heart

Tulad ng sinasabi sa Psalm 33:3:
“Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”

If you want to grow as a worship song leader,
don’t skip the process.
