THE ADVANTAGE OF ARRIVING EARLY BEFORE CALL TIME?

More time to take selfies before the program starts! 🤳😜

Because when you’re already dressed, groomed, and event-ready… sayang naman ang face card! ✨😎

Early arrival = prepared for the program + extra selfie session.

Productivity, but make it photogenic. 🎤🤪

On a serious note, for a professional host, arriving early is not just about being punctual—it is part of the performance preparation.

The earlier you arrive, the more control you have over the program before the guests even notice you.

ADVANTAGES OF ARRIVING EARLY BEFORE CALL TIME:

1. You can inspect the venue.

Familiarize yourself with the stage, entrance, registration area, dining setup, VIP tables, backstage area, restrooms, and emergency exits.

2. You can coordinate with the event team.

Touch base with the event planner/coordinator, program director, stage manager, technical team, photographer/videographer, performers, and venue staff.

3. You can do a proper sound check.

Test the microphone, speakers, monitor, music playback, wireless mic, lapel/headset if applicable, and make sure you know which microphone is assigned to you.

4. You can rehearse important program segments.

Practice the opening, grand entrance, introductions, special numbers, games, awarding portions, speeches, and closing.

5. You can check the program flow.

Review the latest sequence and confirm any last-minute changes—especially names, titles, speakers, performers, sponsors, and timing.

6. You can familiarize yourself with the people you will introduce.

Knowing the correct pronunciation of names, positions, companies, and special titles prevents embarrassing mistakes on stage.

7. You can prepare your materials.

Organize your script, cue cards, phone/tablet, program copy, music cues, game mechanics, prizes, and other hosting essentials.

8. You have time to handle unexpected changes.

Programs almost always have surprises. Early arrival gives you enough breathing room to adjust instead of scrambling five minutes before the show.

9. You can mentally transition into host mode.

Instead of arriving stressed and immediately going onstage, you have time to settle down, focus, hydrate, breathe, and get into performance mode.

10. You look and feel more confident.

Confidence onstage doesn't start when the microphone is handed to you. It starts with preparation long before the first guest hears your voice. Of course, dont forget to retouch, as first impressions truly last.
