JOHANYS
I am but a lowly poet,
Trapped in her beautiful silhouette.
And when she stole my very heart,
I could not think that she was a threat—
For losing it was the sweetest part.
Her lips that are red as velvet,
Her smile I can never forget,
Her hair that frames her lovely face,
Her mysteries I can’t interpret—
A beauty that stuns in countless ways.
Fear has stolen away my bet;
In love, I owe so many debts.
Still, I can’t find the courage I need
To tell her—so I drown in regret.
My pride and my soul hang on a thread.
So I must fight my fears, not fret;
My heart and my mind I must set.
This time I’ll be true—I’ll be honest,
For there’s only one chance I may get.
I really, really like her—Johanys.
