Isang malaking karangalan para sa Tanghalang Tangos na mapili at maimbitahan bilang sole performer for cultural and contemporary dance sa pagdiriwang ng 57th Anniversary ng FPOP.Ito ay ginanap sa Ibis Style hotel sa Quezon City.

Maraming salamat sa tiwala, pagmamahal, at pagkakataong maibahagi namin ang aming talento at passion sa sining at kultura. Tunay na napakahalaga para sa amin na maging bahagi ng isang espesyal na selebrasyong nagbibigay-halaga sa Filipino talent, creativity, at kultura.

Hindi lamang ito isang performance para sa amin.isa itong pagkakataong makapagbigay-inspirasyon, makapagbahagi ng saya, at maipakita ang galing ng mga kabataang patuloy na nagsusulong ng sining.

MIDFEST SPOTLIGHT: Tanghalang Tangos Dance Company

The official performing arts organization of Tangos National High School, founded by Elldher Nicolas, who continues to serve as its Founder and Artistic Director. Before becoming Tanghalang Tangos, the group was known as Kawag Dance Troupe. The name Kawag was inspired by the small Styrofoam boat used by fishermen a simple vessel that carries hope despite its size. In the same way, the group began with limited resources but with hearts full of passion and dreams.

As the organization grew, so did its vision. The members decided to rename the group Tanghalang Tangos, embracing not only dance but also theater and various performing arts disciplines. The new name symbolizes a broader purpose: to create meaningful performances, nurture young artists, and inspire the community through creativity and storytelling.

Looking ahead, Tanghalang Tangos Dance Company hopes to become a respected home for artists who remain humble, disciplined, and dedicated to their craft. Success is not measured by awards alone, but by the lives touched, the values shared, and the legacy of inspiring future generations to dream boldly while never forgetting where they started.
