As a teacher, I know firsthand that teachers need more time to prepare their lessons. Some of the most intelligent teachers I know can benefit from learning the use of non-verbal communication strategies like body language, hand gestures, and facial expressions in the delivery of their lessons. But we cannot do this if we don't have enough time to rehearse what we are going to say.

Maybe the reason I’ve been feeling tired with my job as a teacher is because, after seven years, I’m starting to feel like I’m not moving forward anymore.

For seven years, I’ve tried to give more than what my job description asked of me.
I’ve been a DepEd TV Teacher Broadcaster, an e-Tulay Tutor, a technical and creative director, content creator, scriptwriter, documenter, photographer, videographer, voice talent, School Paper Adviser, Robotics teacher—and, honestly, lahat na yata. 😅

I’ve repaired things, created things, trained students, produced content, and taken on roles that I never imagined I would.

I’m not saying I’m perfect. I get lazy sometimes. I make mistakes. I have my lapses.

But overall, I can confidently say that wherever I go and whatever I get involved in, I try to become an asset.

And perhaps that's why it hurts when, despite all of that, I sometimes feel unappreciated and uncompensated—especially when a low performance score can affect something as important as my career progression and ranking under ECP.

But maybe this is also a sign for me to pause and reassess.

I’m not quitting teaching.

Instead, after seven years of pouring so much of myself into my job, I think I need a different kind of sabbatical—not necessarily from work, but from making work the center of my growth.

I want to focus on something I’ve always been deeply interested in: speaking and communication.

I want to learn more. Practice more. Improve my own skills. And hopefully, help other people become better and more confident communicators along the way.

That’s why I created this page.

I’m hoping to build a community of learners—students, teachers, professionals, and anyone who wants to find their voice, communicate their ideas clearly, and speak with confidence.

Maybe this is not the end of my journey as a teacher.

Maybe it’s simply the beginning of a new chapter.

And this time, I want to grow in a different direction.

If you’re also working on your speaking and communication skills, come learn with me.

Please, follow and leave a comment.😁😆

Glad to have shared what I love doing in this Journalism Masterclass.

I observe that the more you think about others when you speak the more they feel connected.

I never felt any pressure or anything but excitement and joy while speaking in front of students journalists.

These three lies hold you back!

Oftentimes the safe place is the reason why we don't move forward in life. Same goes to public speaking, you need to get out of your safe zone and try it even your a little afraid. You have ideas that matter and you can only build the emotional muscle to share them under pressure if you keep doing it.

Three things that must work together for our message to make a difference.

What many people fail to realize is that you cannot gain confidence without experience. We keep waiting to have that confidence before we even try, without knowing that when we try we build evidence that we can do it and it will result to confidence.

Remember, experience first before confidence. So have the courage to try when opportunities show up.
