I’m excited to share a look at "Geometric Aligator — my low‑poly take on a beast that’s equal parts fierce and architectural. This render is at 75% scale (approx. 2608mm long × 1004mm tall × 750mm deep). I’m currently refining panel joins, the jaw mechanism and leg geometry so it’ll be structurally sound for fabrication.
Update: I’ve decided to fabricate it in 1.5mm stainless steel and finish it with a 2‑pack epoxy in an “Alligator” colour. That means I’m planning for precision cutting, strong welds/joins, careful edge treatment, and a durable, satin protective finish — great for galleries or outdoor display. Next steps are finalising the panels bending to precise angles for TIG welding. Choices I’m weighing now:
mounting: flush to floor vs raised on a low plinth vs suspended
lighting: subtle edge lighting to emphasise facets or clean top/bottom spotlights
finish sheen: matte vs satin vs high gloss with the epoxy
Which would you pick? Drop an emoji or a quick reason — and tell me if you’d want a behind‑the‑scenes build video or an assembly timelapse next.
