Three centuries after his canonization, the witness of St. Peregrine Laziosi continues to speak powerfully to those who carry the cross of suffering.

On the night before undergoing surgery, Peregrine entered the chapter room of the Servite house in Forli and knelt in prayer before the fresco of the Crucified Christ. In contemplating the suffering of Jesus, he found strength to entrust his own suffering to God.

This moment invites us to look upon the Cross not only as a sign of suffering, but as a sign of hope, mercy, and complete trust in God.

As we commemorate the 300th anniversary of his canonization, may St. Peregrine teach us to remain faithful in times of trial and to place our deepest fears and hopes before Christ.

VISITATION OF THE RELICS OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI

We are blessed to welcome the Relics of St. Francis of Assisi to St. Peregrine Laziosi Parish & Diocesan Shrine on August 25–27, 2026.

ARRIVAL: 9:00 AM, August 25, 2026
DEPARTURE: 7:00 AM, August 27, 2026 (after the 6AM Holy Mass)

This special visitation offers the faithful a unique opportunity to come together in prayer and devotion, and to reflect on the life and witness of St. Francis of Assisi, whose profound love for Christ, humility, simplicity, and devotion to peace continue to inspire generations.

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.”

Let us prepare our hearts and welcome this sacred visitation with prayer and thanksgiving. May the presence of the relics inspire us to deepen our faith, renew our commitment to living the Gospel, and become instruments of peace in our families, communities, and the world.
