A greater level of acceptance is necessary for independence.

“𝗔𝗞𝗢'𝗬 𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡” exhibit is a deeper understanding of one's self-expression over the course of their incarceration, with a focus on their own selves or one's personal belongings, whether they be material or intangible. This notion also refers to accepting one’s self through creation of their own art in the correctional setting.

It features the paintings and wood burning pieces of selected members of the Kulayaan Group of Artists from the Minimum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison, with their own interpretations of this given theme.

Exhibit is open from May 30 - June 12, 2023, 11AM - 7PM at SM Center Muntinlupa, Second Level, Expansion Area.

Today is the day we will finally witness the art pieces made by our Kulayaan artists! If you're not yet sure how to go there, here's a guide on how to go to SM Center Muntinlupa for the Ako'y Akin exhibit:

From TUP Manila

1A. Ride a jeepney at Kalaw Avenue - southbound then alight at Gil Puyat LRT Station
1B. Board a train either in Central Terminal/United Nations Station - southbound then alight at Gil Puyat LRT Station.
2. Ride a bus with the PACITA via Susana Exit Signboard at BBL Terminal
3. Alight the bus in front of SM Center Muntinlupa.

Through EDSA Carousel

1. Go to your nearest EDSA Carousel station and ride a bus going southbound (PITX MOA sign board).
2. Get off at the One Ayala Terminal.
3. Ride a bus with the PACITA sign board.
4. Alight the bus in front of SM Center Muntinlupa.
