Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Strawberries:
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup of sugar. Let them sit for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices.
2. Blend the Strawberries:
- Using a blender or food processor, puree the strawberry mixture until smooth. If you prefer chunks of strawberries in your ice cream, blend only half of the mixture and mash the rest.
3. Make the Ice Cream Base:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
4. Combine:
- Stir the strawberry puree into the ice cream base until well combined.
5. Chill the Mixture:
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight. This ensures that the mixture is thoroughly chilled before churning.
6. Churn the Ice Cream:
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until the ice cream is thick and creamy.
7. Freeze:
- Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
8. Serve:
- Scoop the ice cream into cones or bowls and enjoy!
This strawberry ice cream is rich, creamy, and packed with fresh strawberry flavor, making it the perfect treat for a hot day!
