Midnight's Solace
Shattered dreams, like fallen leaves,
Scattered hopes, her heart deceives,
A love unrequited, yet she can't breathe,
Tethered to what could never be.
His smile, a fleeting work of art,
Captivated her, a loving heart,
But his eyes, never truly saw,
The love she held, in vain she drew
In secret tears, she drowns,
A silent scream, her heart resounds,
The weight of longing, a heavy chain,
Binding her soul, a perpetual pain.
Memories haunt, like whispers low,
Reminding her of love she'll never know,
A ghostly echo that refuses to fade,
A bittersweet reminder of her heart's shade.
Her heart, a canvas, once vibrant and bright,
Now tainted with sorrow, a melancholy night,
The colors of hope, faded and worn,
A masterpiece of love, forever torn.
Oh, why did she fall for someone else's sky?
A love destined for another, passing her by,
Leaving her with just a distant sigh,
A longing that will forever wonder why.
Time may heal, but won't erase,
Memories of what she couldn't replace,
The what-ifs, the maybes, the could-haves too,
A lingering ache, forever shining through.
Yet still she rises, amidst the pain,
A resilient spirit, like morning rain,
Washing away tears, cleansing her soul,
A heart, though broken, still makes her whole.
