The Story
Long ago, in a small village, there was a farmer named Eli.
Every spring, he planted seeds in faith, even when the ground was dry and the skies were silent. His neighbors mocked him, saying, “Why waste your effort? The rains may never come.” But Eli believed that every season had its purpose.
That year, the rains came late. Many lost hope. But because Eli had prepared in faith, his fields bloomed with golden wheat. His harvest fed not only his family but the entire village.
Now, many years later, Eli’s great-granddaughter, Sarah, faces her own season. She doesn’t plant wheat—she studies in a busy city. Some days, she feels overwhelmed and wonders if her hard work is worth it.
But then she remembers the story of Eli. Just as he trusted the season of sowing and reaping, she trusts that her late nights of study, her struggles, and even her waiting have a purpose.
The verse reminds both Eli and Sarah—and us—that life has seasons: planting and reaping, waiting and receiving, sorrow and joy. What may seem empty now will bear fruit in its time.
