PAMATRON: THE SAMAR FIESTA EXPERIENCE
A Living Heritage of Faith, Culture, and Community in Samar

Witness the SOUL of SAMAR come alive — where every fiesta is a testament of devotion.

For Samarnons, the fiesta is PAMATRON: a sacred covenant, a jubilant thanksgiving, an enduring legacy. Feel the cadence of drums at daybreak, savor the taste of suman and lechon shared in fellowship, marvel at the kaleidoscope of banderitas, and join the solemn grace of processions and novenas. Experience the whirl of the Kuratsa, the thunder of festival drums, the pageantry of grand parades, the laughter of the traditional games, and the “PAGBURUBLIG” that binds every household in preparation.

This 2026, the Provincial Government of Samar, through the Samar Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office, proudly launches PAMATRON: Samar Fiesta Experience — our newest flagship tourism product celebrating Samar’s distinct, vibrant, and deeply spiritual traditions.

The inaugural pilot begins in Matuguinao.
PAMATRON launches at MAKARATO KAHIARAAN 2026, where the KAHIARAAN Festival will showcase how one town’s devotion reflects the collective faith, artistry, and festivity of all Samarnons.

This is more than an event.
It is our identity IMMORTALIZED.
RESILIENCE in every dance.
GRATITUDE in every feast.
COMMUNITY in every Kuratsa, parade, and procession.

With thanksgiving, sacrifice, and praise, the Municipality of Matuguinao commemorates its living heritage — KAHIARAAN — through the solemn celebration of Makarato Kahiaraan 2026.

Amid global uncertainties and a changing climate, we remain steadfast in faith, unity, and resilience. This year, we celebrate with simplicity and sincerity, honoring St. Isidore the Farmer, patron of our farmers — the hands that feed our town.

Anchored on the theme “Pagpasalamat • Paghalad • Pagdayaw,” we give thanks for peace, offer our service, and lift our praise to the Almighty.

Under the visionary leadership of Mayor Aran dela Cruz Boller and the Municipal Arts and Culture Office, we invite you to witness Pamatron: Matuguinao Fiesta Experience — not through grandeur, but through the quiet strength of a community that remembers its roots.

This is our culture.
This is our thanksgiving.
This is Matuguinao.
