ONCE UPON A TIME I WAS ONE

Once upon a time I was a kid
Everytime I say "can't"
I'm often get spanked
And there's a tear to shed

Once upon a time I was an achiever
Always got the highest scores
Grades never dropping to the floor
And everyone told me I was clever

Once upon a time I was a daughter
With a mom who left
And a dad that never fits
I was terrible said my brother

Once upon a time I was a friend
Get hurts by actions but never tell
Cherished memories till forever
And they thought I don't care

Once a upon a time I was a lover
Gives everything I can
But they always run
So might as well be a loner

Once upon a time I was a stranger
They saw me loud
Sometimes got no sounds
And they think knowing me is harder

Once upon a time i saw myself on a mirror
Looking like a lost child
It's the hardest I tried
But still can't find the door to where I should be

ironic it is
for me to get confused
a little bit

kunti nalang ei, malapit na
but it humbled me...

we are always reminded
na hindi klarado ang buhay
akala mo straight na ung daan
pero kalagitnaan, ika'y naguluhan

and so, we are to take it slow..bagalan
unawain ang mga tanong sa isipan
at pakatandaan, na dahan dahan lang
sabi nga nila, liwanag ay darating dahil
sa bawat pagkalito, may aral na darating

walang nasa unahan, gayundin sa hulihan.

ako ba yung pinapakita ko,
o yung hindi ko masabi?

minsan, nagsusuot tayo ng maskara
hindi dahil gusto natin magpanggap,
kundi dahil hindi pa tayo sigurado
kung sino talaga tayo.
