APPRECIATION POST. THANKS EVERYONE
How many times have we wanted to quit the indie scene as event organizers? It's exhausting, stressful, gear gets broken, and we're constantly worrying—will we be able to pay the crew? Can we give even a little something to our guest bands? Will we hit the bar quota? Will the venue even let us host another show?
We don't have big sponsors; every single expense comes straight out of the door tickets. But why are we still here?
I've lost count of how many events have passed, how many bands have played on our stage, how many bottles of beer have been drunk and smashed, how many kilos of pulutan consumed, how many buckets, spoons, forks, and bottle openers accidentally brought home from the bar. But what's the point in all of these (typecast). Friendship, reputation, hobby, stress reliever, love?
So many people met at these gigs—some became couples, and a few even ended up married.
Maybe we'll only host events until this year, or maybe we can stretch it for one more year—or perhaps as long as our bodies can still load and unload gear, we'll keep making shows happen. As long as there are still bands who believe in what we can do. Just keep pushing forward; hell, we can do this. If we survived 12 years, what's another 30?
So let's appreciate our shows. We are there to make people feel and hear our music. It doesn't matter if you're the opener or the last band to perform, if there's a crowd or an empty room, or if people applaud or throw chairs at you. If you made it onto the lineup, do your best. It's 2026 and social media is everywhere—record your performance and upload it. What matters is that there are people supporting you, no matter how s**t things get.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE'RE ALL WE'VE GOT TO HELP EACH OTHER RISE IN THIS SCENE. WE PROVIDE YOU PLAY AND MAKE EVERY SHOW AS MEMORABLE AND AWESOME AS POSSIBLE.
Support who supports you.
