The Dramatics '18 - '22 The Dramatics is one of the umbrella clubs (UCs) of the Guild of English Majors (GEMs) of the Depart The main objectives of the organization are:

The Dramatics is one of the umbrella clubs of the Guild of English majors, together with the Extension Student Corps (ESC), Writers' Circle (WC), Debate Society (DebSoc), and Book Lovers Club (BLC). From years up to the present time, The Dramatics, formerly 'Dramatics Club' is the resident performing arts organization under the department. The Department ensures that students can find and join the

right organization that will fit and enhance their strengths and talents — one of the main reasons why these organizations were established. The Dramatics is a home for the people who are fond of music, dance, acting, and other related forms of arts. This organization is known for creating events and programs such as; collaborative workshops, busking, flash mobs, intermissions, theater productions, and other performances that will help students from its department to showcase themselves. It caters to all bonafide CAL-DEFLL students from Polytechnic University of the Philippines Santa Mesa Campus; it aims to unite the three houses within the club: Medley, Fusion, and Spotlight. The house of Medley is for members who are aspiring singers and those who are passionate about playing instruments. Fusion is a home for creative dancers, while Spotlight is for the members who are into theater arts and production. These houses work individually and collaboratively to achieve the victory and goals of the organization. Breaking the stereotypes inferiority to Arts by upholding the appreciation and love for performing arts in the PUP Community.

Vision: The Dramatics seeks to be recognised by creating a community for all aspiring CAL-DEFLL students in the field of Performing Arts who would like to express, enhance, and exercise their talents and themselves. It aims to produce a creative, imaginative, passionate, socially-aware, and well-rounded students that would contribute to PUP Community and outside the university. Mission:
1. Expanding CAL-DEFLL students' artistic gifts,

2. Connecting CAL-DEFLL students who have the same love and appreciation to Performing Arts,

3. Promoting and formulating socially relevant programs; and

4. Serving as a platform for the development of Performing Arts in PUP Community.

Four years, and now we’re here!

College has surely been a rocky road, but now look at you, finally standing at the end of it. We have witnessed how you, our fellow borgs, have dedicated so much time and effort for TD and how you’ve grown along the way. Despite all the tears and worries, and all the battles you have fought, creating art and standing for the people, you guys were still able to find joy in everything and see things through. And now, your TD family is behind you smiling as we see your names among the graduates of Batch ‘23.

We would also like to acknowledge our former 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼 and former 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗼-𝗼𝗻 for their exemplary contribution with the TD family. The fight would have been harder without your help.

DEFLL The Dramatics became the home of outstanding talented students from Literary Majors (LCS) and English Majors (ELS) in performing arts throughout the previous years.

Due to the restructuring of organizations inside the Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Linguistics, the AB Literary and Cultural Studies (ABLCS) and AB English Language Studies (ABELS) members have separated, and the organization is now solely for ELS students.

In line with the abovementioned, this page will serve as a tribute to the collaborative efforts of both program and the late Prof. Paula Arevalo-Destacamento, the organization’s former adviser. Thus, we are thankful for supporting our organization from Reign to Repeat. Especially the LCS students and alumni who contributed a lot to the organization.

The Dramatics is initiating a donation drive to help our Executive Director, Hazel Aycardo, whose father was involved in an accident and in need of surgery. This organization would not be where it is today without the leadership and diligence of Hazel, and so we intend to express our solidarity with her in these trying times by aiding their family's financial needs for the recovery of his father. You know it's one step forward and puro forward na dapat!

The road towards success is never easy to take on. It is rough and bumpy, but these TD borgs have never ceased to portray courage and bravery to face their fears and those who doubts. They have put up a good fight and here they are, presented as one of the graduates of Batch '22.

Senior borgs, do you get de ja vu when you used to balance your acads-org-(work)-life routine? We know that you have made a lot of sacrifices and we are beyond grateful that you still chose to give time for this organization.

You are a batch of excellent students who were never afraid to fight for the truth and for your rights, and may you remain to be one, even in your future endeavors. May you bring the pride and lessons TD has taught you.
