The Far Eastern University Chorale is the premier and official choir of the Far Eastern University (FEU) under the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA). Emerson Hernandez as its artistic director. The group joined and won in several choral competitions, performed in various television programs, and graced a plethora of functions in and outside the University. Karl Angelo Tangco took over as the Artistic

In July 2019, the group embarked on its first international choral competition, the 4th Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival, bagging First Prize in the Mixed Category and Second Prize in the Folk Song Category. With this feat, the FEU Chorale was chosen as one of the two choirs to represent the Philippines in the 2nd Asia Choral Grand Prix held in Bali, Indonesia last July 2023. In November 2019, the FEU Chorale won first place in the Senior Choir Category of the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA). The FEU Chorale welcomed Mr. Roijin G. Suarez as the new Artistic Director in January 2024. He led the group into winning the Sing! Sing! 2nd Choral Festival & Competition as Mixed and Equal Voices Category Champion and hailed as the Grand Prix Winner.

✨ Where Music Happens ✨

Being under the baton of Maestro Marlon Chen for this special rehearsal was truly an unforgettable experience. Through his guidance, the FEU Chorale was immersed in the magic and philosophy behind the music, discovering new meaning in every phrase and every note we bring to life.

This August 29, join us as we take part in CELEBRATION: The MSO Centennial Season Concert IV — Opera At Kundiman: The Legacy of Maestra Conching Rosal, a celebration of both the 100th anniversary of the Manila Symphony Orchestra and the 100th birth anniversary of Maestra Conching Rosal, the celebrated soprano who brought Bizet’s *Carmen* to life in Tagalog. 💎

Featuring excerpts from Carmen performed in Tagalog, alongside kundiman and other Filipino vocal works, this special evening brings together voices, movement, and music in celebration of a remarkable musical legacy.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Marlon Chen, Sir Allan Luna, and Sir Gabriel James Frias for sharing this unforgettable musical experience with us!

On August 5, 2004, under the leadership of then FEU Chair Dr. Lourdes R. Montinola, the FEU Chorale was re-established with Mr. Emerson Hernandez as Artistic Director. In 2017, the choir’s artistic journey continued to flourish guided by Mr. Karl Angelo “Gelo” Tangco. Mr. Roijin Suarez took over as Artistic Director in 2024.

Today, on our 22nd anniversary, we celebrate more than two decades of passion, mentorship, and harmony - we celebrate the narratives that shaped this group's story. 🎓✨🎶

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our supporters, mentors, members, alumni, the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA), and the Far Eastern University management and community. May God’s abundant grace continues to guide and bless our journey. 🙏🎵

To commemorate, we look back on this performance from Batch 2021 singing Ceciliada. May the patroness of Music continue to guide us in our musical journey and protect us in our goals of bringing music to the world.

Happy 22nd Anniversary, Kantamaraws! Mabuhay ang sining!

In 1966, Far Eastern University (FEU) President Dr. Nicanor Reyes Jr. with the help of Mr. Victor Toledo, established in the FEU Grade School the Singing Bamboo Band also known as the “FEU Pangkat Kawayan (FEUPK).” The FEUPK transferred to the FEU Girls High School then to FEU Diliman before eventually returning to the Manila Campus. In 2007, the group was reorganized and changed its name to the “FEU Bamboo Band (FBB)”.

At present, it consists of 50 young and talented FEU students from different institutes. It is being conducted by Mr. Norberto Cads.

The basic instruments that the FBB uses are the marimba which produce the melody, bumbong which carry out bass and chord rhythms, and angklungs which provide melodies and counterpoints to the marimba tunes. These instruments are ingeniously crafted from indigenous materials, mainly bamboo and narra. Most of them are handmade by Professor Siegfredo Calabig.

The FBB is a cultural group under the FEU Center for the Arts.
