Tanghalang Nasyunal proudly marks another theatrical milestone with the successful conclusion of Tanghal Season 2. Nationalian student artists infused the stage with creativity, passion, and collaboration through their powerful performances.

This season featured three original stage plays—Mundong Malungkot, Isay an Makakapagparahay, and Patahian ng Malaya—each offering deeply moving narratives that explored themes of grief, faith, identity, and family. Through these stories, the production showcased not only artistic excellence but also the dedication of more than 130 student performers and production staff who worked behind the scenes and onstage.

As Tanghal Season 2 ends, Tanghalang Nasyunal continues to uphold its commitment to meaningful storytelling and the growth of theater arts within the Nationalian community.

SDAO UPDATES | Tanghalang Nasyunal Delivers Another Theatrical Triumph in Tanghal Season 2 🎭

Tanghalang Nasyunal successfully concluded Tanghal Season 2 with a remarkable series of performances held at the 410 Jhocson Memorial Building last May 16, 18, 19, and 20. Through powerful storytelling and heartfelt performances, the production showcased the creativity, passion, and dedication of Nationalian student artists.

Featuring three original stage plays that explored themes of grief, faith, identity, and family, the four-day run became a celebration of artistry and collaboration made possible by more than 130 Nationalian student staff members and performers. Audiences filled every show schedule as the organization delivered moving performances that resonated deeply with viewers.

Among the featured productions were Mundong Malungkot, written by Jarelyn Waje and directed by Kyla Mae Casapao and Jesy Ysabelle Manandeg; Isay an Makakapagparahay, written by Leif Dionn Martin and directed by Cassandra Marie Luna and Erika Sofia Santana; and Patahian ng Malaya, written by Aldrich Cancino and directed by Marrius Evalarosa and Issa Mae Dula. Each play highlighted unique narratives and emotional depth that reflected the talent and vision of the student-led production team.

As the curtains closed on Tanghal Season 2, Tanghalang Nasyunal once again proved its commitment to promoting theatrical excellence and meaningful storytelling within the Nationalian community. The successful run of the production ended with overwhelming support and applause, marking another milestone for the organization and its growing legacy in the performing arts scene.

Over the four amazing days of the show, three meaningful plays touched on themes close to every one of us, demonstrating why theater matters:

𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙤𝙩 – a story of grief and facing the loss of a loved one.

𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙮 – a journey of faith, tradition, and family trials centered on an albularyo from Albay.

𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙝𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖 – a heartfelt portrayal of devotion, livelihood, identity, and acceptance through the art of sewing.

Every performance, every actor, every line spoken, and every moment shared was the fruit of dedication, talent, and hard work from everyone involved. Tanghalang Nasyunal proves their stories deserve the stage. Though the shows have ended, the lessons and feelings these stories left behind will stay in the audience’s hearts and minds. The curtains may have fallen, but the proof of their passion remains. 🥳👏
