What if you could relive the soundtracks your favourite films, anime, and video games with a live orchestra? π»
Through Film Concerts Philippines, Third Culture Entertainment founder and CEO Mikhail Schemm (2019 Gen. T honouree) makes that dream a realityβand last weekend, they turned their attention to the iconic films of Studio Ghibli.
Across five sold-out shows, the FILharmoniKA orchestra, conducted by Gerard Salonga (Gerard Salonga), brought the scores of My Neighbor Totoro, Howlβs Moving Castle, Kikiβs Delivery Service, and Spirited Away to life.
Held at The Theatre at Solaire, The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli is not only Film Concerts PHβs biggest run to date, but also their most meaningful, celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
Ambassador Kazuya Endo imparted, βThere is truly no greater force that brings us closer together than the universal language of music.β Thanks to the Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan, Third Culture Entertainment were granted the rights to Joe Hisaishiβs official compositions. βReal diplomacy doesnβt just happen in conference rooms, it can also happen in theaters and concert halls,β Schemm added.
