MIF Alumna took the stage at 2026, sharing how observation and humor shape her work.

From the timeless antics of Mr. Bean to the strange and funny details of everyday life, Jill finds inspiration in the extraordinary personalities of ordinary people. These moments shaped the big, bold, and bright visual language she was once criticized for but is now renowned for.

𝓕𝓮𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 𝓮𝔁𝓬𝓲𝓽𝓮𝓭 𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓸𝓷𝓮 ✨🌏

Earlier this month, MIF got to sit down with fellow illustration fair organizers and practitioners from across Southeast Asia for the very first meeting of the Southeast Asia Illustration Council (SAIC).

The room brought together both established fairs and emerging platforms from six countries—each with different scales, models, and local realities. The exchange was grounded, generous, and deeply honest.

The shared intention behind SAIC is to keep a light, flexible, and practitioner-led approach, focusing on connection, alignment, and long-term sustainability, while respecting each fair’s independence and local context.

There’s so much exciting stuff happening across the region right now, and this felt like a glimpse of what’s possible when Southeast Asian illustration communities connect and grow together. 💛✏️
